A western English teacher writes about sex, prostitution and Chinese women in Shanghai. A great read for fans of Chinese women. The blogger ChinaBounder has sparked a lot of criticism and hate among Chinese men for his explicit blog blackening the reputation of China.

Having also had the privilege to have lived in Shanghai for almost two years, I think this blogger gives a pretty fair account of the realities of the treatment of women in modern day China. While you cannot tar 1.3 billion people with the same brush, it is quite clear than Chinese men do not, in general, treat women as equal. Face to face, of course they do, but there still exists a society dominated by men.
The sex industry is rife in cities such as Shanghai, but few Chinese people will ever even acknowledge its existence. It’s all about face.
