A brothel is an incall establishment where sensual prostitution services are conducted. Depending on the legislation brothels are either single houses or a a multitude of brothels that are confined in a redlight district. Brothels might be limited to certain operating hours during night time and may not be open during day time in certain regions. Other expression for brothels are cat houses, whore houses, bordellos, puffs, casas, etc.

Brothels are legal in many places. The most famous brothels can be found in Nevada USA, Amsterdam, Holland and Frankfurt, Germany.

The typical way of conduct in a brothel would be similar in most brothels around the world. There is a variety of prostitutes working in a brothel that are presented in a line up or in the entrance of their own rooms or in windows. A potential customer enters a brothel and negotiates prices for services. Payment for services is recommended after service is rendered, but many prostitutes do insist on up front payment. Usually, many prostitutes that work in a brothel will conduct a short visual check up of the genital area and give a short genital wash for the client. Brothels are usually a much cheaper sexual entertainment than escort services.
