Warning: Escort Scams
It's unavoidable, but the anonymity of online sites and greed of criminal minds opens doors for internet fraud. Phishing and spam are one part. Another part are fake escort agencies and questionable marketing methods of online escorts. We have collected a list of typical escort scams we have encountered over the past years.
1) Advance Payment & Travel Scams
It has been brought to our attention, some escort agencies from Eastern Europe operate scams! They offer girls as escorts abroad. Usually the escorts will not be available in their own country but will meet you in another country, i.e. in your location or on a trip to Paris, London or Geneva. For this they require an advance payment for their services plus all travel expenses. Some of them are honest and provide the service as promised, but from others you will never hear again after you paid them. Be aware and take proper precautions when booking such a sex vacation escort service - or avoid it as we would strongly suggest.
We have neither the possibility of monitoring agencies that advertise with us nor does a listing in our directory means to be an endorsement of services offered. We have absolutely no influence or partnership with any sexual services offered by parties that we link to.
If you are doubtful about an escort agency but still want to book them, get advice from the escort bulletin boards and escort review sites that are listed on Travel Sex Guide. If you happen to be a victim of a scam, feel free to post your experience as a comment to the listing on our site. Simply browse ti the listing of the agency in Question and click on Send Feedback in the upper right corner of the listing. All entries are moderated, but of course we try to be as fair as possible to everybody so be precise in presenting facts and your opinion.
2) Fake Pictures
Creating escort websites with fake pictures is a common technique of fraudsters. They steal images off of pornstar and model sites, blur the faces of the girls and make them appear to be escorts. When you call to have a particular lady visit your hotel room, a different lady is presented and they claim the other girl got sick or had an accident. When you call them to ask if a girl is available, make sure they understand you want a particular girl and will not pay if somebody different shows up. Usually, they will request the taxi fare for the escort should you decide to send the escort home. It's advisable to agree on this to avoid unwanted trouble. But of course you should pick an environment like a hotel with good security to be able to have them removed in case they cause trouble.
3) Retouched Escort Photos
Many escort malls and escort agencies enhance images by use of digital retouching. There is nothing you can do about this, but feel free to leave a comment as feedback at a particular listing should you feel you were tricked. We find that most South American escort malls use this deceptive technique. Probably, because photographers set up shop and offer escorts free images when they advertise on their escort malls.
3) Phone Sex Premium Numbers
Very popular dating and escort scams involve posting of phone numbers to premium priced phone sex. Usually, this is done by escort malls in Europe, USA and South America. The contact phone numbers will be special numbers at a premium rate of 2 US$ or it's local equivalent. Instead of talking to an escort or agency, you will be offered phone sex. Please, check local phone resources to check for phone tariffs of regular phone calls and the pre-fixes of high priced premium services.
Should you be aware of any other escort scams, please, feel free to contact us.
